New World Villages

NEW WORLD VILLAGES is an all-volunteer * , 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization whose mission is to work to increase the educational level, health, and human dignity of impoverished people living in the Americas.  The organization was founded in September 2004 by Malachy and Elaine Moran, following a visit to the poverty-stricken country of Belize in Central America.  In its founding, the primary intent of the couple was to provide a “hand up” to the poorest of the poor.

Accomplishments of the organization within its first two years of operation include:

• financing a total of 20 new "Animals for Others" farms in the rural, impoverished Toledo District of Belize;

• delivery of healthcare items, clothing,
shoes, blankets, linens and other
necessities to Belize, and to the Navajo Nation of the southwestern United States;

• shipment of approximately 3,500 library
and textbooks to schools in Belize and within the Navajo Nation;

• procurement and delivery of computers to Belize;

• provision of scholarships enabling Belizean teachers to attend summer training workshops;

• provision of scholarships enabling students to attend primary and secondary schools.

Relationships have also been established and strengthened with local leaders in Belize's Toledo District and within the Navajo Nation.
